N'goma FPSO

The FPSO, formerly named Xikomba, was converted by SBM Offshore. The vessel has been renamed to N’Goma. Before it arrived at the Paenal shipyard in Angola on July 18, 2014, the FPSO had been renewed at the Keppel shipyard in Singapore.

The N’Goma will handle the production of Block 15/06 of the West Hub in Angolan deep waters, which is operated by ENI. Its oil processing capacity is 100,000 bopd. Furthermore, it has a gas handling capacity of 115 mmscfd and a water injection capacity of 120,000 bwpd (source: sbmoffshore).

Amongst other, Frames supplied new vessels with internals and new internals for existing vessels. The main challenge was to fit new internals into existing vessels, a so called retrofit. Furthermore Frames supplied new chemical injection and distribution systems and hydraulic equipment. The challenge here was to fit the new equipment into the available footprint on the deck or turret of the existing FPSO.
