Khurais Central Processing Facilities

The Khurais development formed a major part of Saudi Aramco’s plan to boost Saudi Arabia's oilfield capacity from 11.3 million bpd to 12.5 million bpd by 2009. Covering the three oilfields of Khurais, Abu Jifan and Mazalij, Saudi Aramco’s Khurais project involved close collaboration with Frames engineers to optimize the production process. Located 250km southwest of Dhahran and 300km northeast of Riyadh, at 127km long, the Khurais field is the largest in the project and covers an area of 2,890km². The next largest is the 1,630km² Mazalij field located southeast of Abu Jifan, followed by the 520km² Abu Jifan field located southwest of Khurais.
