About our Solid Desiccants
Strict dew point requirements are dictated by process conditions downstream, e.g. gas compression or LPG recovery. Dew points obtained using solid desiccant technology can easily exceed values achieved with absorption (glycol) or Low-Temperature Separation (LTS) technology, and can be as low as -80°C, or even -100°C (<10ppm).
Because of the amount of impurities that need to be removed, the most common configuration is a multi-column continuous batch operation. With one or more columns in dehydration mode and the remaining column in regeneration mode in an automated sequence, uninterrupted operation is achieved.
For the regeneration mode, gas can be obtained directly from the process itself, or from an external source. Preparation for the next cycle is performed by means of consecutive heating and cooling of a saturated column.
Our approach
Designing many of these systems has enabled us to enhance the quality of this technology. Frames works with input from reputable solid desiccant suppliers in the industry. In addition to selecting the most suitable solid desiccant, we consider the number of columns, the switching sequence, heat conservation, reuse of regeneration gas, etc.. This enables us to provide added value to our clients.
