Wessel about Frames

I am Wessel, 32 years old and I joined Frames in November 2007 as Project Engineer.

Frames is characterized by the easy access. It is a flat organization in which the director or manager is easily approachable. The door is literally (almost) always open, and everyone is willing to help and answer questions.

The enjoyment which people work with on their project at Frames, strikes me again every time. Colleagues deal with each other in a positive manner and really work together. When I just started at Frames, I found it remarkable to have so many responsibilities instantly. If you can handle it, you immediately get complete projects.

The best part of my function is the variety. The phases within a project are constantly subject to change. Often, it is a huge challenge to deal with these changes.

As a Project Engineer, you need to support the daily activities of projects such as planning and budget.

Manager Projects

Because we are operating internationally it is important for a Project Engineer to be able to deal with different cultures. You deal with different clients, each one having a complete different mentality and culture. You have to show guts and that is a lot easier if you possess excellent communication skills.

As a Project Engineer, you need to support the daily activities of projects such as planning and budget. To give an example of a large project we recently executed; we had to deliver six glycol regeneration skids for one of the biggest gas fields in the world. These skids where built in Germany. During such projects you communicate as a Project Engineer with the client and supplier, and also with the various Frames teams (Process, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation). With the client you are optimizing the design and with the suppliers you put together contracts. The more complex the project, the more you are in contact with the suppliers to keep a close eye on the plan.
